The son of two school teachers, Ernest Robertson’s family moved to Sitka, Alaska in 1947. Robertson’s interest in art was inspired by Sydney Laurence, whose techniques he greatly admires. An outdoorsman by nature, his favorite subject is a mountain vista, a dusk, or a moving seascape with its ever changing qualities.
