About the Artist: Teri Sloat
Sloat as been a beloved children's author and illustrator for decades, and recently embraced the freedom to express her images without the limitations of pages and the layout of words by creating fine art limited edition giclee prints. Sloat is a plein air and studio painter of landscapes and folk art. Both embrace her life spent outdoors, on farms, ranches and trails (and often in quite remote areas of Alaska). Her artwork conjures a sense of wonder and inner quiet derived from her time spent in nature. It is that quiet that allows her to hear the stories of the land she is painting, and that allows her to share the one-of-a-kind folkloric images in her mind. |
