Investigate your authentic voice through consciousness exercises & various guided art explorations by SEASONED ALASKAN ARTISTS! Art gallery curator and artist, Becky Stephan, along with consciousness instructor, Ethan, Martin, seek to imbue that personal investigation and staying curious are at the core of honest self-discovery.

The event space is a 34' yurt and vast Peony Farm on Diamond Ridge in Homer, Alaska. Overlooking Kachemak Bay, this property sets the tone perfectly for a weekend of self discovery and personal expression. This property has been in Ethan's family for decades. It is the perfect setting for enjoying Alaska's bountiful beauty that is known far and wide to lead to endless artistic expression.

There is ample space on the vast peony farm property to accommodate attendees to pitch your own tent or park a camper. All campers have full access to our clean and sanitary outhouse. Ethan Martin was born and raised in Homer, Alaska. During a challenging time in his mid-20's, Ethan embarked on a decade-long pursuit of greater consciousness, leading him to shedding a majority of the crippling inner turmoil he was perceiving in his experience. 

Ethan has shared what led to his more enlightened state by regularly holding Consciousness Workshops in Homer. Many of his students choose to come back to the work over and again after experiencing the benefits of self-investigation. Ethan believes that to access curiosity, we need time and space more than ever to give the seeds of self-knowing a place to grow & be nurtured. Ethan is an active member at his local theater in Homer, teaches Tai Chi, and spends his summers tending full-time to his family's beloved Diamond Ridge Peony Farm. Ethan has traveled to over 25 countries, and earned a BA in Creative Writing.

Becky Stephan met Ethan at an introductory Tai Chi class, and subsequently enrolled in a Consciousness Workshop. The two quickly became friends, and decided to meld their love for the arts and consciousness work in this unique retreat opportunity. Since 2004, Becky has owned and curated Stephan Fine Arts in Anchorage, Alaska, and is an oil / encaustic artist. Becky is also a Speech-Language Pathologist in the state of Alaska. She holds a bachelors degree in psychology, and a masters degree in communication disorders. Becky has four sons and enjoys a life full of passion and creativity.

​After a lifetime of observing artist's practices and, thereby, witnessing what causes artistic blocks and progress, she is motivated to assist artists in finding their true selves and artistic voice. 

During this retreat, Becky is offering complementary 30-minute sessions one-on-one or in pairs with each attendee with the option of exploring one of the following themes: 1) Accessing your higher self through clearing your mind, asking a question, and painting  2) Melding art & business coaching session 3) Staying motivated throughout the artistic journey

Meet Your artist instructors!

The art instructional portion of the retreat will focus on melding art instruction with the consciousness work sessions. The artist works closely with Becky & Ethan to develop curriculum. The consciousness portion of the workshop consists of brief lectures, dialogue, partner communication exercises, and guided meditations designed to help you understand and cultivate a more direct and personal relationship to your experience of art and your artistic process.
