Integrated Arts Retreat of Alaska

Whether you're an artist novice, seasoned art professional, or somewhere in-between, this retreat will provide an opportunity to investigate your authentic voice through consciousness exercises & various guided art form explorations by seasoned Alaskan artists. We (Becky & Ethan) believe that personal investigation, staying curious & constant experimentation are at the core of self-discovery. At this retreat, we aspire to provide a time and place for people to intentionally explore the 'real and present you'  - the source of  all original & authentic artistic expression.

The event space will be held in a 34 ft heated and insulated yurt built by Ethan in 2021. With its latticed circular walls, 6 ft skylight, and 1000 square feet to spread out and work on art, it is an ideal space for imagining new possibilities!

Integrated Arts Retreat of Alaska - Yurt Upgrade

1,000 square foot Yurt. In 2021, Ethan built a 34 ft diameter insulated yurt just yards away from the peony farm! Equipped with a skylight, electricity, and ample space to comfortably spread out, this space is toasty and just steps away from the peony farm, Ethan's cabin, and what we like to call 'the forest cathedral'. (4 spaces available)

Integrated Arts Retreat Early Arrival (Art, Bakery, Bunnell)

$120.00

Show up a few hours early and join us for a fun group session! Valerie Jaimes will be leading a watercolor session entitled "The Colors of the Spirit" at a TBD area in Homer (dependent on weather). This art session will be followed by a group visit to Two Sisters Bakery, and then a staff-guided tour of Bunnell Street Gallery by Gallery Coordinator, Brianna Lee. Bunnell is one of the most community-forward, innovative galleries in the Pacific Northwest. You will learn about the various artists featured in the gallery, the mission of this nonprofit gallery, and the history and forward vision for the space. All art materials provided, along with a $15 credit at Two Sisters Bakery.

Ethan Martin was born and raised in Homer, Alaska. During a challenging time in his mid-twenties, Ethan credits Zen Meditation with providing the personal insights that set him on a lifelong path in pursuit of greater consciousness. Ethan regularly holds Consciousness Workshops in Homer, with many of his students choosing to come back to the work over and over again.

Ethan is an active member at his local theater in Homer, teaches Tai Chi, and participates routinely in the Thursday night boxing fights when in Anchorage. He has traveled to over 25 countries, and holds a BA in Creative Writing. Ethan spends his summers managing the family business, Diamond Ridge Peony Farm, a beautiful plot of land overlooking the Homer bay - which is  the setting for the Integrated Arts Retreat of Alaska.

Becky Stephan met Ethan at an introductory Tai Chi class, and subsequently enrolled in a Consciousness Workshop. The two quickly became friends, and decided to meld their love for the arts and consciousness work in this unique retreat opportunity. Becky has owned and curated Stephan Fine Arts in Anchorage, Alaska (at this time the longest-standing gallery in the state) for 21 years. She is a second-generation owner, and recently opened Stephan Studio in West Anchorage where she specializes in art framing, restoration, appraisals, and art consultations. Becky has organized and curated over 150 art shows and represents approximately 30 artists at any given time in her galleries. Becky is also a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist in the state of Alaska, and has four sons. She enjoys painting, yoga and her crew.

By looking into what is presently occurring for us with a spirit of curiosity and openness we can discover and clarify that which is often overlooked or ignored, allowing us a more empowered and authentic experience of ourself and life.
